Description

A Crown Derby breakfast service, 19th to 20th century,

comprising nine circular plates, a pair of cordiform dishes, a quatrefoil dish and a lobed dish, each richly decorated in the traditional Imari palette of iron-red, cobalt blue and burnished gilt, the centres painted with stylised flowering shrubs and scrolling foliage within a shaped reserve, enclosed by alternating panels of deep blue and iron-red grounds heightened with elaborate gilt foliate ornament, the reverse of each piece with painted factory marks in red, including the Royal Crown Derby cypher and pattern numbering

Rubbing to the decoration. Two plates with cracks, one with hairline crack to rim, another with firing crack to the base. One plate with chip to the rim, another with chip to the basal rim
