Chinese Yixing Tea Set- Also known as Zisha Ware, crafted from unglazed purple Yixing clay. The porous and unglazed clay is designed to absorb tea flavors over time to enhance future brews. Pot is approx. 4" high and 8" long, and is decorated with raised branches and berries. The western style handled teacups and saucers are undecorated, except for some incised lines on the handle. With a fitted box. From the collection of the Kruizenga Art Museum at Hope College, Holland, MI.
