SOVIET COLD WAR PROPAGANDA POSTER. Comprising a comical anti-fascist propaganda poster titled The Advocates of "Freedom", depicting 4 quadrants and a poem by M. Raskatova. Upper left, a fist grabbing a colonial, text reading, "It's enough to be meek and obedient! The nation's hand will dig out the root of centuries of slavery, racism, and the planet's shame - colonialism!" Upper right, two police officers with a baby in a stroller with jail bars on its front, text reading, "The advocates of 'freedom' in fascist Chile took freedom away from a baby. But the child will grow up and then, the jail bars will fall down forever!" Lower left, capitalists chase after Pinochet, who clutches a paper reading "Democratic Conquest of the Chilean People," text reading, "The fire burns in the darkness of Chile's night and there is no count to the purple flames' But those who want to 'warm their hands' on it will have their hands slapped by the people of the nation!" Lower right, a colonist shakes the hand of a bound and prone man, text reading, "The colonist tenderly congratulates the victim on his freedom not out of jest: This type of 'independence' has been the colonist's secret dream for a long time." Artist A. Krylov, 1979. Poster measuring 38.5 x 26 inches (97.8 x 66cm), overall including attractive exhibition frame glazed with plexiglass, 40 x 28 inches (101.6 x 71.1cm).
