Fine extra large antique Japanese Portrait of a Young Woman wearing traditional Kimono and holding Taiko (Japanese drum). Masterfully painted. Beautiful details. Signature and seal of the artist were, regretfully, chopped of during framing process in the first half of the 20th century. Gold leaf, gouache, watercolor and ink on silk. Protected with glass. Painted back and gold wood frame. Paper and metal hanger on back. Excellent condition - no damage to the artwork, no stains or foxing, minor age wear on paper back. Japan, Meiji to Taisho Era, c. 1910-1920s.
