Description
Early vintage six-piece French sterling and glass aperitif set with unique silver plate gallery tray, which is a later vintage piece. This is a "married" set from different eras but pairs perfectly together like soulmates.
The aperitif set includes one decanter with silver and glass stopper and 5 cordial glasses with sterling sleeves. The decanter height is 8.5" including stopper. Each glass in sleeve is 1 7/8" tall. All 6 glass pieces have a thumbprint design and the sterling on all is stamped with the French hallmark of the side profile of Minerva with the number one indicating the silver quality is possibly greater than 925. The Minerva hallmark was introduced in 1838 and used until the 1970's.
The silver plate gallery tray is unmarked and rests on bun feet. It measures 5 3/4"W x 9.5"D x 1 3/8"H.

Condition Notes: Excellent vintage condition with some imperfections from age and use including tarnishing and scratches. The glass on the stopper has minor flea-bite chips, but all other glass is free of chips and cracks.
