Full Description
An exceptional and beautifully preserved pair of vintage Hollywood Regency table lamps, sourced from the curated estate of Natalie M. in Porterville, California.
Each lamp stands a commanding 35 inches to the top of the shade and features a luminous alabaster body designed to illuminate from within. The fully functional three-way switch system allows the alabaster base to glow independently, the upper bulb to illuminate alone, or both to operate simultaneously for full layered illumination.
When the base alone is lit, the alabaster emits a soft, sculptural glow "” transforming the lamp into ambient accent lighting. When both base and upper light are illuminated together, the effect is warm, architectural, and substantial. This level of lighting flexibility is a distinguishing feature rarely found in standard decorative table lamps.
The alabaster bodies are in immaculate vintage condition "” clear, structurally sound, and free of cracks, fractures, or repairs. When illuminated, the stone reveals natural tonal variation with no blemishes or damage.
Each lamp is constructed with a heavy cast brass base featuring sculptural scroll feet and a fluted collar. The brass retains its original finish and natural patina, preserved rather than over-polished to maintain depth and authenticity. The original brass collar remains intact and retains its original Underwriters Laboratories inspection label.
Both lamps retain their original period brown cords and original plugs, all in excellent condition with no cracking, splitting, or deterioration.
Notably, the lamps retain their original pleated shades "” a rarity for vintage lighting of this era and scale. The shades remain in excellent vintage condition and preserve the intended silhouette and proportion of the design. Finding a matched pair with original shades intact is increasingly uncommon and contributes meaningfully to the integrity and completeness of the set.
This is a refined, statement-scale pair offering preserved originality, substantial construction, and elevated lighting functionality.
⸻
Why We Love It
The glow of real alabaster, the weight of heavy cast brass, and the rare preservation of original shades and hardware make this pair exceptional. The illuminated base feature allows the lamps to shift effortlessly between sculptural accent lighting and full ambient presence "” refined, flexible, and timeless.
