This is a fabulous Italian deeply carved wood mirror with a large shell on the top center, sheaves of wheat spraying out to the sides and fabric gathered under the shell and draped in swags to the stars in the top two corners of the mirror. The drapery and higher elements are a rich warm gold gilt with lovely burgundy red visible and the incised parts are a muted white. The paper tag which reads Made In Italy is still present. The mirror and frame is 55 inches high, 35 inches wide and 5 inches deep and the right and left side are 46.5 inches high. The mirror itself is 37 inches high and 26 inches wide.
