PAUL BLAINE HENRIE, AMERICAN (1932–1999) Cityscape Serigraph on Paper
Member: Laguna Beach Art Association, Carmel Art Association.
Henrie was born Paul McKinley Henrie in Tampa and began his art career during his teenage years. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he traveled to Chicago, New York City and New Orleans working as a mural artist.
By the mid 1950s, he had settled in California. He lived in Carmel at first, and then moved to Laguna Beach. After opening a gallery at Main Beach in Laguna, Henrie became well-known for his watercolors depicting local coastline scenes and views of places he had traveled including Tahiti, Mexico and Hawaii. During the 1950s and early 1960s, he signed his art Blaine or Paul Blaine. After 1961, he signed it Paul Blaine Henrie.
