This very lovely box has a wonderful strong Japanese oriented design with a bird on a branch of a cherry tree , worm wood color that remind danish mid-century use of wood , the lid and the main body of the box carved out of one piece ,( you will see it in pictures ) in box you will find a compartment with a lid , the top lid is made out of wood but the decor also use cork that gives such a very sophisticated effect , the mixture of structure and carving is really very well done , the bottom of box to amplify the japonisme style is carved like a bamboo, we have not found any other piece similar to this one , for collectors of strong in style and unusual object , size 8" h 0n 5" deep will give you multiple options of use as be don t know the original one
