Title: Oil painting Winter road through quiet forests Boris Serdyuk Description: NoAAA5461The Oil painting on Cardboard titled "Winter road through quiet forests" evokes the serene beauty and timeless rhythm of nature as it lies beneath the stillness of winter. This composition, executed in bold, impressionistic strokes, captures a moment of harmony where human life and the untamed forest exist together in mutual balance. The artist employs color, texture, and form to convey not only the cold sharpness of a snowy morning but also the deep sense of calm and eternity that such landscapes bring. The viewer's gaze is immediately drawn to the snowy ground stretching across the foreground. Rendered in tones of white, lilac, and pale blue with touches of creamy yellow, the snow is alive with shadows and reflections, suggesting the crisp brilliance of winter sunlight. Rather than a flat surface, it is textured with ridges and furrows, each brushstroke creating the impression of footprints, tracks, or the uneven patterns left by wind and time. This textured handling allows the snow to feel real and tactile, as if its crunch underfoot could be heard in the silence of the scene. In the middle of the composition stands a horse, painted in warm tones of earthy brown and ochre. The animal, harnessed and pulling a long wooden log behind it, becomes a quiet symbol of rural endurance and labor in harsh conditions. Its silhouette, slightly blurred with vigorous strokes, conveys motion, as though it advances patiently through the snow. The presence of the horse introduces the theme of human connection without directly showing people-its work implies the unseen hand of those who rely on its strength. The log it drags adds a narrative element, suggesting the collection of wood for shelter, fire, or building, and reminds us of the constant dialogue between man and forest. The background is dominated by tall trees, their trunks painted with bold strokes of earthy brown, deep red, and almost black, rising vertically and contrasting with the softer horizontality of the snow. The pine trees carry dark green foliage, their tips catching light, while the reddish tones of their bark glow against the otherwise cool palette of the painting. This contrast breathes warmth into the otherwise icy atmosphere and reminds us of the resilience of nature, even in the depths of winter. The forest, dense and shadowed, creates a protective frame for the composition, deepening the sense of solitude and stillness.
