Title: Oil painting On summer vacation Alex Kalenyuk Description: NoAAA3865This oil painting cardboard, titled "On summer vacation", the composition radiates joy and nostalgia, evoking childhood memories of playing outdoors, exploring nature, and enjoying the beauty of rural landscapes. In the foreground, a lush green hillside unfolds, painted in a mix of bright yellows, deep greens, and hints of blue. The artist's dynamic brushwork gives the impression of tall grass swaying gently in the breeze, illuminated by the sun. The uneven terrain and scattered patches of color suggest wildflowers and the natural irregularity of the land. At the center, a group of children is depicted, painted with small yet expressive strokes of red, white, and soft pink. Their presence brings life to the scene, suggesting playful interaction or quiet observation of the landscape before them. Their placement on the hillside adds to the sense of movement, as if they are mid-exploration, embracing the freedom of summer. To the left, tall, sturdy trees with lush foliage provide a natural frame for the composition. Painted with thick, layered strokes of green, ochre, and brown, they offer shade and contrast against the sunlit meadow. Their branches reach toward the sky, adding height and depth to the painting. In the middle ground, a calm river winds through the valley, its surface reflecting the surrounding greenery and the soft hues of the sky. The artist uses subtle variations of blue and green to convey the gentle movement of the water, enhancing the peacefulness of the scene. Beyond the river, a picturesque village is nestled among rolling fields. The small white houses with red roofs, along with the distinctive church topped with a golden dome, add warmth and a sense of belonging. The village appears slightly softened, as if seen from a distance, reinforcing the depth of the painting and the idea of a peaceful retreat from city life. Above, the sky is painted in soft purples, blues, and whites, with thick, swirling clouds drifting across. The choice of a muted, slightly overcast sky adds a sense of calm and balance to the otherwise sunlit landscape. The painting captures the fleeting yet timeless moments of childhood summers-days filled with exploration, friendship, and the simple joys of nature. Through the use of expressive color and texture, the artist creates an inviting scene that evokes a deep appreciation for the beauty of the countryside and the freedom of summer days.
