A 1991 Upper Deck Michael Jordan Signed Autograph Basketball Card No. 69 (PSA 10 GEM MINT AUTO)
Autograph obtained from Jordan by Make-A-Wish child in 1992 at Chicago Stadium
On February 17, 2023, as he turned 60, Michael Jordan marked the milestone in signature fashion by making history off the court. He donated a record-setting $10 million to Make-A-Wish America, the largest single gift the organization has ever received.
Jordan’s connection to Make-A-Wish stretches back to 1989, when he granted his very first wish. In the decades since, he has brought joy to children around the world, turning fleeting moments into lifelong memories.
One of those moments came on January 25, 1992. Before the Chicago Bulls defeated the Houston Rockets 114–100, Jordan took time to meet a young fan from Michigan in the Bulls’ locker room at Chicago Stadium. What followed wasn’t just a meet-and-greet, it was an unforgettable, deeply personal experience. The boy, battling Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, spent time with his hero in a private autograph session, sharing cards and memorabilia that Jordan carefully signed.
Even amid game-day responsibilities, like distributing his allotment of tickets, Jordan remained fully present. He joked, laughed, and, most importantly, offered words of encouragement that left a lasting impact.
That encounter became more than a cherished memory. It became a source of strength. More than three decades later, the young boy is now a man who continues to win his fight.
Now, pieces of that extraordinary day – those signed cards, each authenticated and graded by PSA, are being shared with the collecting world, carrying with them a story of resilience, generosity, and the enduring power of a simple wish.
