Description

5th-7th century AD. Bronze, size 9 ¼. 2.1mm rounded section band flared to the shoulders. The oval bezel was impressed with five concentric circles representing the wounds of Christ. These were made and sold along the route to The Holy Land, often at minor shrines along the way. Those same routes later were taken by Crusaders in their quest to wrest Jerusalem from the Muslims. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. See the reference image which shows the process. Gift boxed with a certification of authenticity.
