Description

Gilt bronze with 2.6mm flat faced band flaring to the ribbed shoulders. Oval bezel cut with a two stroke X extending to the shoulder one side. On a man’s ring, this would serve as a signet, but here, it is decorative, emulating the signet only. Pseudo functionality was a common theme in Roman jewelry as demonstrated by the key rings which implied ownership of a jewelry chest when none existed. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift box with Certificate of Authenticity.
