Description

The Viking period through early Crusades. Gilt bronze, size 8 1/2. Rounded face 2.2mm width band flaring to the dimples shoulders. The circular bezel double bordered and radially incised on the underside. The top is finely engraved with a bordered four-point star on a saltire, representing the Star of Bethlehem. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.103. Good quality and exceptional preservation. A charming wearable example with the pure silver surface restored. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
