Title: Oil painting Yellow sunset in the field Oleksiy Ivanyuk Description: No.Kalen 1549The oil painting on Canvas titled "Yellow Sunset in the Field" captures a fleeting, radiant moment of nature’s golden transition. With expressive impasto technique and a dazzling palette, the artist renders a pastoral landscape bathed in the warm glow of sunset, transforming an everyday rural scene into a vivid celebration of color, life, and light. The composition centers around a peaceful herd of cows scattered across a wide-open field. Their forms are built with thick, energetic dabs of red, burgundy, ochre, and brown, giving them a sculptural presence within the scene. Rather than rigid outlines, the animals emerge through expressive strokes, integrated into the terrain and atmosphere around them, emphasizing their harmony with the land. They graze calmly, casting long shadows across a field that shimmers with late-day brilliance. The field itself is a symphony of hues—golds, yellows, deep blues, and lush greens intertwine in layers of swirling texture. The artist’s technique brings the earth alive, capturing not only the physical surface but also the temperature, movement, and scent of the countryside. Blues and purples appear where shadows fall, while golden tones dominate the upper portions of the canvas, suggesting the last rays of the sun spilling across the terrain. Towering trees rise in the middle and background, their canopies dancing in shades of copper, orange, and olive green. The foliage seems to sway gently, animated by the painter’s palette knife in bold, curving motions. Their trunks, rendered in cool purples and warm russets, serve as vertical anchors in the fluid, horizontal rhythm of the landscape. The trees stretch skyward, catching and diffusing the warm light, their silhouettes outlined against the sky’s layered pastel backdrop. The sky is a spectacle in itself—no longer the blue of day, it transitions into a dreamy wash of lavender, peach, cream, and soft turquoise. Wisps of clouds float above, echoing the thick, sculpted texture of the ground. These abstracted shapes melt into one another, creating a sense of time slipping between daylight and twilight. The yellows in the upper sky merge with the field below, enclosing the painting in a golden embrace that evokes a deep sense of calm and fulfillment.
