Title: Oil painting Moon over the river Oksana Kalenyuk Description: No.AAA3845This oil painting cardboard, titled "Moon over the river", the composition is divided into three key sections. The foreground features a darkened riverbank painted in deep, almost black blues, with hints of green and dark violet. The rough, textured strokes suggest grass, rocks, and a small wooden bench, inviting the viewer to imagine sitting there, gazing at the still water. A small tree or bush to the left, rendered in contrasting green, provides a touch of organic detail and frames the scene. The middle ground is dominated by the river, a vast expanse of luminous blue reflecting the moon and the lights of a distant village. The artist creates a sense of gentle ripples on the water’s surface with fluid, sweeping strokes of the palette knife. A striking golden reflection stretches vertically across the river, drawing the eye toward a mysterious solitary figure, dressed in yellow. In the background, a cluster of houses and trees lines the opposite shore, their warm red and orange lights glowing softly against the cool tones of the scene. These lights provide a striking contrast to the dominant blues, reinforcing the feeling of a quiet village settling in for the night. Above, the sky is a mix of soft purples and deep blues, with delicate wisps of clouds stretching across the horizon. A small crescent moon hangs in the upper right corner, casting its gentle glow over the water, while its reflection dances on the river’s surface. The overall mood of "Moon Over the River" is one of solitude, mystery, and peaceful contemplation. The painting evokes the feeling of a cool, quiet evening, where the world slows down, and the only sounds are the soft lapping of water and the distant hum of a sleeping village. The interplay of warm and cool colors, the dynamic textures, and the presence of the lone figure all contribute to a composition that is both visually stunning and emotionally evocative. It is a painting that invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and appreciate the quiet beauty of the night.
