Description
This is very rare and beautiful Tea/Coffee Cup and Saucer Set made by WEDGWOOD in Florentine Black pattern.
The pieces are hallmarked on the bottom with Wedgwood black and gold stamp.
The set includes:
1 (one) Tea/Coffee Cup - 3 1/3" in diameter and 2 5/8" tall
1 (one) Saucer for the cup - 5 3/4" in diameter.
The set is in very good vintage condition with no cracks or crazing. Could have some minimal utensils marks and some minimal, if any, damage to the gold. Please refer to the pictures. The actual color may differ from the photo due to lighting conditions

Wedgwood Florentine is probably the pattern with the most variations that we are aware of.
The main design element of the Wedgwood Florentine patterns are the griffins which surround the border of the pattern. Griffins are mythological creatures which were associated with heraldry, that is the designing of royal and noble coats of arms. It is therefore easy to understand why this imagery would be invoked by designers seeking to impart a “royal’ flavor to dinnerware.
The variations tend to be mostly of color including black, blue, turquoise, red, yellow, green, gold and more. There are also some patterns that have fruit urn centers and other that are plain white.
