Description
15 flies by the highly respected tyer Lew Oatman (1903-1958). Known as the pioneer of exact imitation streamers, Oatman was one of a small distinguished group, along with Don Gapen, Sam Slaymaker, Ed Hewitt, Art Flick, John Alden Knight, Keith Fulsher, etc., to be the first to tie flies that closely resemble native bait fish, rather than attractor flies. Each fly is accompanied by the pattern name handwritten underneath, all the flies appear to be sewn to the backing board with all but one in near excellent condition. The wood frame measures 14 1/4" x 10 1/4" with moderate wear. Several rarely seen patterns are included as well as several Oatman originals. From the Bill Hrinko estate, his dated signature on the bottom right.
