Hetian Jade Ox, Thickness 1.5cm, Length 6.8cm, Width 2.9cm, 49g. An ancient Chinese auspicious beast ornament originating from the jade culture of prehistoric, Shang and Zhou dynasties, symbolizing diligence, cultivation and good fortune. Carved from Hetian jade with partial natural reddish-brown infiltration, warm and fine in texture. Combining round carving and incised line techniques. Shaped as a recumbent ox with a honest posture; decorated with meander patterns, cloud thunder patterns and spiral patterns, featuring simple and bold lines in line with the "simple and majestic" craftsmanship of archaic jades. A horizontal through-hole on the back for stringing and wearing. Style dating to Shang, Zhou, Spring and Autumn or Warring States periods. As an embodiment of the ancient "Six Auspicious Jades" and ritual jade culture, it represents agricultural civilization and noble prayers, serving as an important artifact for studying ancient jade craftsmanship and the evolution of animal patterns.
