Bluestone Thousand-Armed Guanyin, height 82cm, length 52cm, width 30cm. Tang to Song Buddhist temple statue, classic thousand-armed Guanyin style symbolizing compassionate protection. Bluestone body with mineral pigments and remaining gilding, thick archaic patina. Made using round carving and painting techniques; Guanyin sits in full lotus position on lotus base with multiple arms holding ritual implements, flame pattern halo, flowing drapery and bright colors reflecting solemn magnificent Tang-Song Buddhist statue style. Tang to Song dynasties. This statue is a core artifact for studying ancient Buddhist art, stone carving and aesthetic culture, witnessing the spread of thousand-armed Guanyin belief with religious and artistic value.
