Roy Bridges Jr. autographed “Conquest of Space” cover documenting a September 15, 1973 test flight in an A-10A aircraft from Edwards AFB, California. The typed and signed flight record notes the purpose as “Evaluation of Drag Reduction Modifications,” with a “Successful Mission” remark. Boldly signed “Roy D. Bridges Jr.” in black ink.
Accompanied by an original 10 x 8” glossy black-and-white photograph of Bridges in full flight gear standing in front of the USAF aircraft, also signed in black ink.

Roy D. Bridges Jr. (b. 1943) is a retired United States Air Force General and NASA astronaut who piloted the STS-51-F Challenger mission in 1985. He later served as Director of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and Langley Research Center, making major contributions to both shuttle operations and aeronautics research.
