NASA 929 – Earth Survey Aircraft – Autographed NASA Test Pilots Photograph

NASA 929 autographed 10 x 8” color photograph depicting the NASA Earth Survey 2 aircraft (Lockheed C-130 Hercules) in flight, trailed by a NASA T-38 Talon aircraft. Boldly signed in felt tip and ink by 11 NASA test pilots including Charlie Justiz, Ken Baker, A.J. Roy, Frank Marlow, Steve Feaster, David L. Mumme, Roger Zwieg, Charlie Hayes, A.J. Roy and several others.

Fine condition.

NASA 929, designated as “Earth Survey 2,” was an extensively modified C-130 used for Earth science missions, including atmospheric and remote sensing studies. Many of the signatures here are of pilots and engineers who played critical roles in NASA’s Earth Survey and airborne science programs in the 1970s and 1980s. Charlie Justiz, who later directed NASA’s Aviation Safety Program, and Ken Baker, a veteran pilot and systems expert, were both part of NASA’s Johnson Space Center aircraft operations. This piece is a strong representation of NASA’s airborne science support community.
