James Alton McDivitt (June 10, 1929 – October 13, 2022) was an American test pilot, United States Air Force (USAF) pilot, aeronautical engineer, and NASA astronaut in the Gemini and Apollo programs. He joined the USAF in 1951 and flew 145 combat missions in the Korean War.

Clark was named Director of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md., today by Administrator James E. Webb. Dr. Clark has been Acting Director of Goddard since July, 1965.
