Colonel Joe Kittinger (1928–2022) was a U.S. Air Force pilot and aeronautical pioneer best known for his Project Excelsior jump on August 16, 1960, when he leapt from a helium balloon at 102,800 feet. His free fall of over 64,000 feet stood as a world record for more than 50 years and laid critical groundwork for high-altitude escape systems and near-space exploration.
A striking and historically significant signed tribute to one of the most iconic figures in aerospace history and human endurance.
