George Arliss (1868–1946) was an English actor, author, and playwright who became the first British actor to win an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Benjamin Disraeli in “Disraeli” (1929). Known for his distinguished screen presence, he frequently portrayed historical and authoritative figures. His role in “The Millionaire” (1931) is often noted for its resemblance to industrial magnate Henry Ford, making this association piece particularly compelling.
