Hugo Gernsback autographed 8 x 10” glossy photograph depicting the pioneering science fiction publisher seated at a desk, signed boldly in thick red wax pencil with an inscription dated 1963. Accompanied by an autographed typed letter signed (TLS) on Gernsback’s personal letterhead dated September 30, 1963, addressed to a collector, discussing science fiction authors and enclosing materials related to his publication “Forecast.”

Hugo Gernsback (1884–1967) was a Luxembourg-American editor, inventor, and writer widely regarded as one of the founders of modern science fiction. He established influential early genre magazines such as “Amazing Stories” and helped shape the direction of speculative fiction in the early twentieth century. The annual Hugo Awards, one of the most prestigious honors in science fiction, are named in his honor.
