Marion Davies autographed 10.5 x 13.5” vintage matte-finish photograph depicting a striking portrait of the actress by noted photographer Ruth Harriet Louise. Boldly signed and inscribed in fountain pen to her “Not So Dumb” co-star Franklin Pangborn, reading: “To Franklin, with pleasant memories of ‘Dulcy,’ Love, Marion.”

Fine condition, with silvering present to some of the darker areas of the image.

Marion Davies (1897–1961) was a major silent film star and one of the most popular actresses of the 1920s and early 1930s. Known for her comedic timing and charm, she starred in numerous successful films and was closely associated with media magnate William Randolph Hearst. Her performance in “Not So Dumb” (1930), an adaptation of the stage play “Dulcy,” showcased her talent for light comedy alongside co-star Franklin Pangborn.
