Late 18th to early 19th century boxwood netsuke of a pile of different shells with a crab hiding in one of them. Very strong early carving, clever design, beautiful warm patina, deep differently sized himotoshi in accordance with the habit of the time, very pleasant to handle. Length 1.68 inches.
