An early 20th century Jacobean Style Console , Server or sideboard. Features a rectangular top legs connected by an H stretcher . Includes a large central storage area with scrolled door, beaded trim, cast iron accents.
Great for being a Hallway stand, entrance piece, bar, buffet server, vanity sink stand, sideboard, console table or desk. Well cared for piece. Makers mark on bottom.

R. J. Horner & Co.:
Robert J. Horner established his furniture company in 1886. He became known for his ornate, carved furniture and innovative marketing by displaying pieces in furnished rooms, a method that attracted both wealthy and working-class customers.

1914/1915: The two competitors, George C. Flint Company and R. J. Horner & Co., merged around 1914-1915 to form the Flint & Horner Co. Inc. This combination created a powerful furniture maker in New York City.
