Jean Claude Bissery was a french artist born in 1930 , painter and cartonier at Aubusson he produce very successfully many tapestries also for the factory Robert Four in Aubusson during 1960-1970 , here we have one of his creation called Astree it is signed in the front and has the original label signed as well showing number 44 on 50 limited edition . Strong in style it present lovely abstract forms and typical mid century coloring that create a very successful piece ,note that the artist played also with relief in the moving technique that gives an unusual effect in the tapestry . Size is convenient 44.50 H on 80 W.
