Alvaro Guillot (1931-2010)
Born in 1931, he was the son of a French diplomat and became known as an extremely talented existentialist early in life. Alvaro began his career among the well known artists in St. Germaine de Pres.
Artist Charles Levier influenced Alvaro Guillot to paint. Creating his own changing style, Alvaro experimented with natural surrealism that grows with his development. His later paintings are more defined as abstract realism. Alvaro Guillot has been described as a Surrealist with blocks of color creating an arrangement of shapes on the canvas capturing the nature of the subject matter itself.
