Here is a decorative and functional pressed brass lift lid box with a zinc liner and an added handmade iron base. The top and front have impressed scenes depicting a group who appear to be eating and drinking in front of a brick building and the sides have a textured pattern. The inside is lined with wood and there is a handled insert. It sits on a removeable iron base which was made and added by the previous owner, who was a talented handyman and woodworker. The hinges are rusty but totally functional and are marked CNS England. There is also a piece of glass that was cut to fit on the top of this chest.

The box itself (without the base) measures 20 inches wide, 12.5 inches deep and 12 inches high, the top is 20.5 inches wide by 13 inches deep, and the legs are 6 inches high. The inside of the box is 18 inches by 11.5 inches and 11.5 inches deep, the liner is 17 inches by 11 inches and 11 inches deep.
