Description

This large graphic Germantown, PA sampler is embellished with stylized trees, flowering motifs, and several religious verses. Anna also included the names of her parents, William and Anna Maria Coates, and her siblings, William, Jane, Sarah, Elisabeth, Abner, Susanna, Tacy, Rachel, & Benjamin. It is inscribed: Anna Coates her sampler/ 1797.

Overall, it is in very good condition, but the background linen has some toning issues
Silk on linen; 24 x20 inches framed.
