Description
Likely Navajo-made, hand-carved doll representing the Wolf (Kweo).
This contemporary beauty measures approx. 11” tall and features suede clothing, fur head chest and back and painted wood. He has a detailed wolf snout, prominent ears, and is holding a club in one hand and feathers in the other.
The Wolf represents a master hunter with great awareness, knowledge of the land, and is often associated with strength and protection.
The "K. Largo" signature identifies it as likely a work by a member of the well-known Largo family of Navajo artisans, such as Mary E. Largo.
