A petite Chinese Han Dynasty terracotta sheep Mingqi circa 202 BC-200 AD. Created in China during the prestigious Han Dynasty, this ancient terracotta sculpture features a sheep standing in an alert position. Referred to as a Mingqi, this terracotta sheep was likely a funerary object buried with the deceased to secure an enjoyable afterlife. Presenting a wonderful weathered patina with mineral deposits on the surface, this Han Dynasty terracotta sheep Mingqi will make for an excellent decorative addition to any shelf or tabletop.
