An impressive and highly decorative Rococo Revival sofa featuring an elaborately carved walnut frame with flowing acanthus scrollwork, pierced carving, and oval tufted medallions at each side. The sculptural crest rail and deeply carved apron showcase strong craftsmanship and striking architectural presence.
The frame and structure are in very good vintage condition"”solid, stable, and structurally sound. The carved walnut retains beautiful definition and character throughout.
The upholstery is original and shows age, wear, and fabric tears. This piece will require a complete reupholstery, including the attached back, arms, and seat platform.
The sofa includes three separate loose seat cushions that sit within the seat frame; all three cushions will also require full reupholstery.
