An elegant American Colonial Revival secretary bookcase desk by Northwestern Furniture Co. of Burlington, Iowa, bearing its original "Master Craft Furniture" label and dating to the 1930s–1940s.
This beautifully proportioned two-piece secretary features a dramatic broken pediment crowned with a central finial, glass-paneled upper cabinet doors, and a classic serpentine lower case supported by sculpted claw-style feet. The compact 16-inch depth makes it especially versatile for hallways, living rooms, studies, or bedrooms where footprint matters without sacrificing architectural presence.
The drop-front writing surface opens to reveal a fully fitted Georgian-inspired interior with shaped pigeonholes, turned miniature columns, a shell-carved central door, curved dividers, and small serpentine drawers "” a level of detail that reflects quality Colonial Revival craftsmanship of the period.
