American, 19th century. Two early to mid-19th century needlepoint samplers linen ground, one signed and dated "Mary Ann Lane / Aged 11 yrs / 1824" and the other signed and dated "Sarah Moore's Work Aged 10 November 1836". Framed. <br
Provenance: The Estate of Goodman B. Espy, Atlanta, GA.

Approximate Dimensions: Mary - sight 16.5", w. 12.375"; frame h. 18.875", w. 14.875", d. 1.5"; Sarah - sight h. 17.5", w. 16.5"; frame h. 20.25", w. 19.25", d. 1.125".

Condition

Mary - minor wear a few holes to UR, scattered pinpoint holes overall, repair to left side. Sarah - overall toning, wear to edges, two circular marks to left of center and right edge.
