
engraved actions, 6.5in barrels, signed ribbs, bearing the crest of the Duke of Norfolk, in a fitted mahogany maker's case with turn screw and loading hammer; together with a letter from the 14th Duke of Norfolk dated 1856, gifting them to Thomas Boniface Esq, letter written on black-bordered mourning stationery, and housed in a black-bordered envelope,
"Arundel Castle, Wednesday, April 16, 1856, My dear Sir, I very well remember that in the early days of the Yeomanry you were one of a certain few of whom my father was especially fond as members of the Corps. I think, therefore that there is no one to whom I can more appropriately give his Yeomanry pistols. I have had them cleaned... I beg you keep them, Yours sincerely, Norfolk"
