The tip with medial ridge and each barb of slightly rounded section with thickened back opposite the cutting edge. Rectangular section bolster and open seam conical socket, chipped at the base. Quite crisp profile. Darkened from burial, uniform stable oxidation texture. Excellent condition for the period. The javelin was thrown to inflict a mortal wound. It was also used to impale an enemy's shield making it off balance, followed by a bodily sword or axe attack.
