Meiji period (1868–1912).The square hinged box worked in cloisonné enamel on gilt metal, the cover finely decorated with a crane in flight amid floral motifs against a turquoise blue ground, the borders and sides densely patterned with stylized floral and scroll designs. The interior fitted with a blue enameled lining, the underside showing the gilt metal base. Retaining its original hinge and clasp. Height: 1.5 inches; Length: 1.75 inches Width: 2 inches.
