This is an original mid-century Japanese woodblock print by the renowned artist Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902-2000). The piece, titled "Summer at Nijubashi Bridge," is from his "Four Seasons of Tokyo" series, published circa 1950s. The print measures approximately 11 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches and depicts the famous Nijubashi Bridge at the Imperial Palace during a summer rain shower, rendered in beautiful shades of blue and grey. The artist's signature and seal are present in the lower left of the image, and the publisher's mark for Uchida Art Co. is visible in the right margin.
About the Artist:
Tomikichiro Tokuriki was a prominent Kyoto-based artist active in both the shin-hanga and sÅsaku-hanga print movements. He was known for his evocative landscapes and scenes of traditional Japanese life.
Condition:
The front of the print displays strong, unfaded colors with a minor spot of foxing in the sky. The reverse side is well-toned with evidence of previous mounting, including adhesive residue and some paper thinning.

**Important** Live Auctioneers has their own shipping program. We find it to be very expensive and slow. This is the rate you see advertised when bidding. We do not recommend using them. If you do use them you must checkout via Live Auctioneers and choose LiveShip at checkout. If you pay via Live Auctioneers and want our In-house shipping you must choose self-arranged shipping at checkout. If you checkout via Lodestar Auctions this does not apply. I apologize if this is confusing, Live Auctioneers purposely arranged it this way to push their own overpriced shipping service. We are not happy about this and are trying to make it work.
Issues:
All items sold as is. We do our best to describe accurately and take plenty of non-touched up photos to best represent the item. Any lost or damaged item due to shipping must go through the carriers. Buyer pays any return shipping costs regardless of situation.
Thanks for your patronage and happy bidding!
