Title:Vintage Chinese Carved Wood Guanyin Statue

Size:14 ? in (36.8 cm) tall x 4 ? in (10.8 cm) diameter.

Description:A large and imposing detailed three piece hardwood carving of the Buddhist figure of Guanyin standing on a raised lotus platform and in front an elaborate filigree screen tipped with flames.

A light-colored hardwood like boxwood has been carved by hand in the shape of Guanyin the goddess of mercy. The statue is secured by a peg to an intricately-carved lotus stand. A removable carved pierced flame panel behind forms a backdrop to the statue.

The statue is unmarked. The wood has developed patina from age; the color of the wood on the platform under the statue is significantly lighter in color than that which surrounds it.

MEASUREMENTS
14 ? in (36.8 cm) tall x 4 ? in (10.8 cm) diameter. Weighs 1 lbs 7.3 oz.

CONDITION
Other than a chips on two flame tips/ edges of the panel, there are no breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. There are slight color discrepancies in the natural wood. The stand wobbles but when the pieces are put together, the weight helps stabilize the statue.
