Description: A stunning brown mahogany organic modern rush cane lounge chair with ottoman from the limited production Merbau Collection designed by John Hutton (1947-2006) for Donghia in 1995. Examples from this particular series are nearly impossible to find for sale. Mr. Hutton was the firm design director from 1978-1998 and was responsible for many of the now iconic. Donghia designs produced during that period. While Hutton’s talent was always recognized within design and architectural circles, this influential modern designer’s work is finally becoming more commonly appreciated by the mainstream. Stout mahogany frame construction veneered in rush-style wicker. Stained mahogany accents. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship, built like few furniture pieces are. Height: 30 in. (76.2 cm) Width: 28 in. (71.12 cm) Depth: 32 in. (81.28 cm) Seat Height: 13 in. (33.0 cm) Circa 1995.
