About the Artist (cited Kolman Reeb Gallery)
Zebrun is inspired by the colors of water and woods of northern Minnesota. The fields, cartography, geography, and topography play important roles in his work.
Cameron paints and collages abstractions from his observations.
His work has been exhibited nationally, and his pieces are included in many private collections and collected by the Minnesota Museum of American Art and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. Prior to his retirement in 2017, he was integral to the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.

Artist Statement – 2022
My ever-evolving fascination with portraying landscape subject matter in surprising and non-traditional ways continues to energize and motivate me.
By observing and collecting images, experiences, emotional responses, and ideas inspired by the natural world, I record the intimate patterns and forces that nature enacts on the environment - the textures, rhythms, symmetry and asymmetry, the essences of nature's abstract forms is what interests me the most. This raw material is the foundation for my art.
In the studio, this sensory information is filtered through an intuitive process of building forms, painting, and processing personal and found photography resulting in art that maps the fluid, non-linear experience of the cycles of life, cycles that continuously invite the opportunity for revelation and discovery.
My artwork is currently focused on two pathways: sculpture and collage.
My sculpture is often described as defying categorization. My pieces are neither wholly painting nor sculpture, although they embody both processes. The design and composition of my sculpture are inspired by the forms, textures, light, color, and shapes found in nature.
