Description
Kentucky work table, early 19th century, crafted in warm-toned cherry with a single full-width drawer and clean, restrained lines characteristic of rural Southern craftsmanship. The rectangular top with slightly overhanging edges rests above a plain apron fitted with a dovetailed drawer retaining its original wooden knobs and escutcheon. The table is supported by four turned legs featuring simple ring turnings and tapering profiles terminating in peg feet, a form commonly associated with Kentucky and Upper South utility tables of the period. The surface displays a pleasing, well-developed patina consistent with age and use. 29 in. H, 33.5 in. W, 28.5 in. D
Condition
Structurally sound; drawer operates properly; expected wear to top including surface scratches, minor staining, and edge wear; scattered nicks and abrasions consistent with age; overall good early condition.
