About the artist: Grigoriev Sergey (1910-1988) - Ukrainian painter and graphic artist, an outstanding portraitist and master of thematic paintings. Born in Lugansk. Studied at the Kyiv Art Institute (1928-1932). Professor of the Kyiv Art Institute (1947-1960). Worked in the field of genre painting (since 1930). Received the USSR State Prize (1950, 1951). People's Artist of the USSR (1951). Full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1958). His works are mainly dedicated to the images of Soviet youth. Worked in the field of genre painting, portraiture and landscape. The artist's works are kept in museums around the world. Lived and worked in Kyiv.
