Reading in part:
"I regret that the manner in which I have been called from place to place on public duty, service the reception of your polite invitation to become your guest at a public dinner… has delayed my answer to this late day.
As my departure for my station is so dependent upon causes beyond my control it is only in my power to accept your curtesy conditionally- You will therefore be pleased to express to the gentlemen my sincere thanks… and will say that should I be so long delayed it will afford me great pleasure to join them…."
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
