Description
Signed western bird lithographs by American artist, Ray Harm, who was known for his naturalistic bird paintings. The first features a California quail pair nestled among California poppies in a beautiful color composition of blues, oranges, blacks and browns. The second lithograph is a pair of Yellow Headed Blackbirds among tall grasses in yellows, greens, and black. Frame consists of a wide wood surrounding a thin gold border.
Born in West Virginia in 1926, Harm served in the Navy during WWII, which created the opportunity for him to go to art school through a GI Bill for continuing education. He sold his works while continuing to work in construction and horse training. When his work caught the eye of a Kentucky businessman, together they began producing high-quality, limited edition lithograph prints of Harm's paintings. These hand-signed lithograph prints are widely collected to this day.
Prints alone measure 16" x 20". With frame, measures 21" x 25"
